Ahaha. Was that Itchy & Scratchy? Dunno the name of that spanked-hippopotamus thing (though I have seen it before.)

Yes Cam it's Itchy and Scratchy. Although I much prefer their precedessors, Tom and Jerry. Have you noticed that T&J are nowhere to be seen these days? Not even on the television. I wonder what happened there?

Anyway, it's all very well figuring out how to place these things into posts, but does anyone know where I can find some to use?

I sure as shootin' don't know how to help you with the smilies, red.

For starters try Googling various spelling fo "smilies" ("smileys". "smiley" "emoticon" "smilie") along with "free" and any other words indicating what you want.  (http://www.forumsextreme.com/images/sFun_chickendance.gif)

I tried free humorous "smileys" and got the following:

Shall I not bother with the other 'u' in humourous, then? :neen:

Red, I seem to remember that a few years ago there was something in the news regarding Tom & Jerry cartoons no longer being suitable for children! It had something to do with violence, believe it or not! Cannot recall anything other than that unfortunately - sorry.

Ugghh! The PC Brigade at work again? *seethes*

I saw in the British press recently that a school had banned swimming goggles as, when wet, they could snap into a child's face and mame them?! I was chatting about this to hubby and we concluded that we must be awful parents to have given our young daughter a metal knife and fork to eat with in case she accidentally cut her head off with them  ::)

However, Tom and Jerry are, and forever will be, my absolute favourite cartoon characters and the Labia Clan never pass up the opportunity to see them when we can.

Do you remember The Night Before Christmas? I always loved it as a child and when I fulfilled a parental ambition to watch it with my daughter [with more tears in my eyes than I care to let on], she was as enchanted as I was.

Oooh! It's on YouTube!!!

Here it is [should I add a warning that it may contain animal violence?!]:

That was enchanting, Labia.  And I really enjoyed the nostalgia of seeing an older, almost antique cartoon when compared to today's big productions.

 Hi Britmys!

Glad you liked it. I'm cooking but looking at some old Tom & Jerry's as I dash in and out. They are simply brilliant and still so very, very funny! I've given meself a serious case of the giggles at two in particular.

'That's My Pup' seems to remind me of darling Ray SteVenson with his young son:

Whilst 'Texas Tom' made me think of TitusPullo immediately:

Thank you Labia, they are wonderful! So charming! There's more plot and characterization in one of those cartoons than there is in your average Hollywood movie these days. :D
