Ya think???   :hysterical:  :yahoo:  :squirm:

I think there will be some initial pouting since the Jane fans are likely still bummed over his departure. But I think they'll eventually come around and see that Marvel hasn't disappointed.  8)

Marvel's offices are right down the street from me.  Oof!  I may be walking my dog there, a LOT!

In an interview with Aint-it-Cool-News, John Dahl finally talked about “Punisher 2″, and his involvement (or lack thereof), and why he won’t be helming the film. Dahl’s biggest contention seems to be that he would rather do a Punisher movie with “a vindictive, kick-ass guy that just shoots people and has no remorse”, but that the studios wanted something more serious.

Oh this bodes very well for this film.  It's why they chose Ray!  They wanted something more!

I'd have to say that my favorite of the Marvel movie franchises (before Ray as The Punisher, of course) is Blade with Wesley Snipes. The studio gets that a comic book character doesn't have to be cartoonish. Blade is a fairly obscure comic book when compared to many of their other properties and it was a surprise when it proved to be a highly successful movie franchise. Good scripts, good writers and the right actor to bring the character to life.

Nomad, can you condense all your links into one post? It'll be a lot easier for those who want to check them out.

Thanks!

Sure.  How do I do that?

Probably the easiest way is to create a new post, copy n' paste all the links into it and then on the previous posts click "remove".

I'll be creating a Punisher section (a la the Rome and Outposts section) and I can take that post and sticky it (a separate thumbtacked thread).

Per Lotis’s request, I’m condensing these links to one post.  I hope I did it correctly.

http://www.comics2film.com/index.php?a=project&j=502

But they picked the absolute worst picture possible for this site! It's that fooking pink shirt he wore to a KA party, I think. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! You need a new stylist, pet, you really do! I can help there. Call me. *wink*

THIS website has some of the script!

Britmys says this link isn’t good.  I’m not sure why that would be.

 :cheer2: Yippeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I go away for a day and look what happens! :dance2: :yahoo:

This is great news!  He's perfect for the role and it sounds that the fans of the original comics will be greatly pleased, not only with Ray, but with the script.  There was just an article in Entertainment Weekly about how hot the comic book movies are right now and how the fans make such an important base for the movies.

I'm so happy for Ray and I can't wait to see it!  Hopefully, this will lead to many more great things!

So Lotis, how long have you had those smilies waiting in the wings? :giggle:

As I said in a previous post - I wish him well! Not being familiar with The Punisher, reading the synopsis it sounds like a comic book Death Wish (a la Bronson) and as we all know that did very, very well indeed. Hope, it having been attempted twice before, this time it pays off. I am sure its quite a meaty role to get your teeth into, More action and less romance/sex should do the trick   Just a thought - wonder if the supporting cast have been sifted and sorted yet. Must say knowing Dolph Lungren had a go did put me off a bit, but then I thought ' it could not be any worse'!

Toduo, What is the exact address of the official Punisher website? I'm having a lot of trouble accessing it, even though I've copied and pasted perfectly, I'm sure.

Thanks,

The Punisher movie with Thomas Jane filmed scenes in Tampa Bay which is only 1 hour away from me. Too bad, they aren't going to do the same this time. I would be willing to be an extra or a Ray handler if need be.  :grinny:
