I think Ray should do an actioner too. Something where he's a character who's larger than life and lives outside of the law. A film in which he can pulverise a lot of bad guys, carry lots of big guns and blow things up ... oh, wait ... nevermind :D

I'd like to see Ray in a role of the types that Jack Nicholson was given in A FEW GOOD MEN and ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST - now that would really be something to get his teeth into! Not too keen on a porn film, as was previously posted! Not because the scenes we have seen of him in the buff isn't a pleasurable sight  but because he's had a few roles in the past with 'exposure' of that kind and it would be good to see him play a role where getting his kit off doesn't come into it - I know, mad isn't it!

I'd like to see Ray in a role that would stretch all other actors to breaking point.  A role that would enable him to act his socks off - something most other actors are insufficiently skilled to do.  So it has to be a flawed character - drama - a future classic.  Oh I'll have a think and get back to you.

In the meantime - playing the part of a fit roughie-toughie is good by me.

As long as he's got some dialogue, not just grunts.

Been thinking some more and come up with this - NO MORE KILLING AFTER P2.  Unless, Ray gets offered a role in a Quentin Tarantino movie.  Rome, King Arthur, P2 all have people dying at the hands of our man, and I think something different would be good.

Russell Crowe gave a magnificient performance in A Brilliant Mind.  Assuming he had no direct experience of schizophrenia, he showed us the horrible confusion that schizophrenics have to overcome and live with.  A true life story of a Nobel prize winning modern day mathmatical genius beset with mental illness.  Now that's the kind of part that I would like to Ray play next.

Final bit of Tickle career advice for Ray - always take a different direction, don't follow up success in one genre with more of the same the.

Russell Crowe lived with schizophrenics for several weeks in preparation for his role in A Brilliant Mind.  Great actors it seems, like Ray  :lips: ,often go through that sort of intense preparation.

I hear what you're saying about death-fest sorts of movies.  But I wouldn't rule out these sorts of films as not having opportunities for great performances.  I'm thinking, notably, of Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver, a modern classic if there ever was one.

You know ive thought about this a lot and you guys might kick me cause im thinking of another comic book character but I think Ray would be great if they gave a real go at doing Judge Dredd, but not the mess Stalone made of it which was a joke but really gettin back to the real roots of the comic, its also a british comic so tends not to pull its punches as much as some do its very dark, very violent but in the end very good, i sort a grew up with Dredd.

I really didn't know that - thanks Nomad.  Preparation and understanding are obviously key and an actor of calibre knows that - but then our Punisher is working hard on that now.

By others (my vote), I mean Mr. Ray should play theatre too. It's less ringing out, but he has the dimension for that. In fact, roles should be written for him by film makers of great personality, like Bergman (RIP) or Ridley Scott, who could give him the role to start the star business Mr. Ray deserves.

Oh, he's not running after fame - right, but can you escape your fate when Nature granted you ?

I particularly see him in the role of Hemingway, for instance, or in the role of Peter the Apostle, or even Paul (this I'd really love), the more important Apostle, though he never met Christ - or in the role of a scientist who finds something that would save the planet from pollution.

Not necessariky as action man, for we're gonna have that, anyways.

I would like to see Ray in a drama with some romance thrown in.  Actually, Ray should have been casted for Beowulf.  I think he would have been wonderful.  Haven't seen the film though, so I don't know if the film is wonderful or not.

Aha! I too have my eye on that film. I read a fanastic translation of the story once and have loved it ever since. The film is either going to be great or awful. Good cast, though.

I would like to see Ray in something that does not by it's nature require a review on bloody-disgusting.com.

congrads, Aggy, you made Jr member... :dance2: *wink*

I would love to see Ray in a Hugh Grant type romance...I bet he does comedy even better than the He man stuff...but thats what people want these days...shoot em ups...drats! they are nice but not a vehicle for exhibiting their dialogue ability...I lurve English stuff for the dialogue..luvrs the accents. maybe a suspence thriller like Derailed with Clive Owen...was a good watch, that one was... except for jennifer anniston...like her, but not in serious parts.
