Ahhh. I was right. Yoof subculture. I am definitely too old or, as I prefer to say, have a sophisticated and mature personal lexicon instead. *Sigh* My daughter had to explain what a Chav was. I still don't think I understand...   

A chav???? That's new to me. I did look it up though and it seems it is  British...we don't use it here that I know of.

It was only when daughter exclaimed last week that she looked "chavvy" in a certain top she was wearing, that I realised I had no idea what it meant. I said "ooh... er... .. lovely! Yes. It looks great!" only to be met with disdain and (I think it was an) "UugghhhhMuuuuuum" so I realised I'd got the meaning wrong

I have been seeing that too, but assumed they were old articles from back when "Punisher War Zone" was still being called "Punisher 2"

Have I missed a lot here. I was in Vegas for a while, then pc was acting up big time and I was too frustrated to deal with it..but I got a big laugh at the R-St name as it truly fits. sorry potatoe went flying right over my head before it landed on Pilleeep's lap. Should have flown onto Miss C's or is it K's lap as she could use some nourishment or a bit of potatoe halves padding in that wedding dress..... now that's what I call firm. 

Must not chastise the future Queen of England on her royal bones...jk seriously she is beautiful, but can't help taking the piss out of her on occasion...(did I get that right?)

I am catching up on reading and hope to be around more soon.

As this is about the real Ray SteVenson, I thought it would be nice to re-post where anyone viewing the site can actually see what Ray News there is, rather than it being tucked away in some part of the Members Only Boards which (since there have been NO new members since September 2011, a fact which I find incomprehensible and I'm convinced it's NOT for the want of trying    *wonders if there's an unofficial embargo on new members joining for some weird reason*) - methinks limits RayVing opportunities.

Oh and I've never heard of Dexter. But if Ray's got a regular part in a well known US Series (Season 7 no less), that is good, nay great news, innit?!

The first casting news for Dexter: Season 7 has been revealed, as TVLine.com has learned Ray Stevenson will have a major recurring role.

Stevenson's best known TV work was in Rome, where he played Titus Pullo, and he has since gone on to play a couple of different Marvel Comics characters – including the title role in The Punisher: War Zone and Volstagg in Thor, the latter of which he's expected to reprise in the Thor sequel.
 
On Dexter, Stevenson will play what TVline describes as "a high-ranking member of an Eastern European crime ring who arrives in Miami determined to learn who killed one of his associates." It's not clear yet if he will be the season's main villain or not. Either way, he's totally ending up on Dexter's table though, right?
 
Stevenson will be seen this summer as Firefly in G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

No, I have not seen a seemingly valid membership request until today, in which there were 2 among the last batch of 500+ registrations.  AFAIK they're valid, they might eventually prove to be new spamming IPs and addresses created to get through (which has happened on at least one prior occasion).

I hope it's understandable that if people need help with something but do not email me about it that I won't know about it.  No one has contacted me in several months about an issue with their account or with registration. Nor has any existing member contacted me to say a friend had trouble registering.  If I know there's something to look for, I will. If I'm not given name or an email address or anything identifying, I can't address it.

I don't think people realize how much is involved behind the scenes to have maintained this board as spam and troll free as it's been for the past several years. Seems as soon as options to combat board invasions come out, new exploits are made. It's like trying to empty the ocean with a thimble. But I feel I've done a reasonable job of keeping intrusions at bay and offering a plague-free forum these past several years.

Thanks, Lotis, I'm very glad to hear there's no embargo. It just seems impossible to me that there have only been a couple of new members since The Three Musketeers came out. I saw stuff on Twitter about the film and it seemed popular and many liked our darling Ray in it too. I thought - quite naturally methinks - that a load more RayVers would result.

  I dunno how you'd spot an evil spammer but I can imagine that there are mischevious people wanting to cause havoc, particularly the sort of spammers wot seem to have got hold of my email address and pester me to buy little blue things... and we ain't talking smurfs!

I'm certain that you've done a tremendous job, Lotis and will continue to do so. I'm also sure the smooth running of the site belies the huge amount of constant effort put in - but - 498 dubious registrations? That seems an awful lot? Perhaps it's the cheery, accepting and possibly naive RayVer in me, wot would trust everyone as a geniune fan.

May I make a suggestion? What about making more stuff public, rather than member only. Members can still have privileges such as the Gallery but it would mean many more could read RayNews for all the right reasons.

Oh I nearly forgot to ask... am I being really thick as I haven't a clue what 'FWIW' or 'AFAIK' mean? Can anyone enlighten me, please?
