Too bad ich nicht spreche deutsch. (Sorry if I messed that up.) I would have liked to understand all the questions and answers, especially Christoph Waltz's. It appears that he is very witty.  :D

I also wonder if some of what Ray said was edited out. All of a sudden I heard Ray say "shaving" ... apropos of ... what? (Actually, probably nothing was edited out......Some of the questions were hardly thought-provoking. At the end, the questions got sillier as they gave everyone a chance to ask a question. Instead of anyone answering the last question, the host just ended the press conference.)

Probably it just seemed as though I missed something to do with Ray because there was some cutting-up going on off-mike between the actors, interspersed with on-mike japes and gibes. I would be more confident that I didn't miss anything to do with Ray if they  had just kept the camera on Ray the entire time.  ;D  Ray seems like a lot of fun, and he reminded me of his old character Titus Pullo when he made the crack "He was alone" and especially when he made the crack about being tall.  :D :crush:

Seriously, though, I enjoyed looking at Christoph Waltz even if I couldn't understand his German. I still find Mads Mikkelsen physically attractive and droll, though disquieting. Seeing him being so laconic, I think it was probably almost a no-brainer, casting Matthew MacFadyen as Mr. Darcy. I discovered Paul Anderson is pretty cute -- in my opinion resembling James Purefoy and a dark-haired Thomas Jane and James Blunt. Speaking of discoveries, I look forward to seeing more of Luke Evans  :cool2: :cocky: , who reminds me a bit of Jude Law. And James Corden --- he's a pisser! *sigh* I have not been keeping up with watching films and television shows. Boy...nobody asked the two young blonde ladies anything. Maybe because they are so young and inexperienced they are unfamiliar to the press?

I wonder if Ray will wear a buzz-cut again, in this film. Logan Lerman is the only one wearing hair extensions. Will the new take on their "sexier" costumes be accompanied by a new take on their hair? Will they be more round-head than cavalier? Important question, I know. Important thoughts in, general. *prattle* :blah2:

...Anyway, looking forward to this film! I know that some say when people have a lot of fun making a film, it is more likely that the film will turn out to be crap. Hope that's not the case, because it seems some of the people are having a lot of fun with each other. Thank you SO much for sharing the links, ladies!!!

Wonder what Christoph Waltz was saying? He had great expressions and everyone laughed when he spoke.

Release date for the 3 Musketeers will be September 1st 2011

Ok and now I try to translate the Q&A with Christoph Waltz.

He is such a funny guy and has a great sense of humor

If you guys have any more question, please ask.

Sorry for my english, I understand quite good, but typing is... well I try my best ;)

Question: A question for Mr. Waltz. You play again a villain for Hollywood,
not only in this project, but in 2 forthcoming movies.
You want a subscription on villains in Hollywood?

Christoph Waltz: How do you know that Richelieu is a villain?

Q: It comes through the history... (laughing)

CW: That is what you think. So I would like you to answer the question again more satisfying.

Q: I said it is what I learn from history, that he is the opponent

CW: Opponent does not mean naturally villain or?

Q: So you not a villain?

CW: Look at us! We both have different opinions. Who of us is the villain?

All laughing..

Q: Again a question for Mr. Waltz: Can you identify yourself with the part of Richelieu?
Are there parallels in your personal life and the cardinals life?

CW: Absolutely. I wear often red cardinals hats (laughing)
I meet the pope from time to time. I do the normals stuff a cardinal do every day.
No, if you allow me to take it seriously: No, there are only few parallels
between my person and the person of Cardinal Richelieu.
Beside from things all people share.

Q: Austrian TV question for Mr. Waltz.

CW: Where are you?

Q: Here. (waving)
I would like to know what excites you to take the part of Richelieu?
Not what u have in common, what tempts you.
Is it your fencing skills? Or what argues for it.
After the flood of offers after u win
the Oscar to take this particular part?

CW: Well if you allow Cardinal Richelieu always was the best and most interesting
part in the book or is it not?

(laughing)

Q: And beyond that?

CW: Beyond that is not much necessary.

Q: question for Mr. Waltz:
You have pointed out that Richelieu is misjudged
he only have an other oppinion.
Till today it is Tim Currys presentation of this figure that appear as the soul of Richelieu.
Do you want to leave a new stamp on it now?
How will your Richelieu occur?

CW: a what?

Q: A stamp (a new mark).

CW: A stamp?
No, I have employees.

All laughing

No, it is the Cardinal in this particular movie.
We want to prevent to put a stamp on it.
And maybe to open the view on him.
And not all what is against the heros in that moment
is automatic evil.
And I think maybe we orientate more on historical facts
how Cardinal Richelieu was in real. He was an outstanding figure
in european history.
And I think if someone have an opinion and to put a stamp on it is normal,
you can try take it serious and we try do that in this project.

This one is hart to translate, its a bit fool around with the words
"Wunsch-Stunt" (wish-stunt?) can't translate that really

Question: Do you perform a stunt? And is there a requested stunt?

CW: A requested stunt? I have more requests for stunts than a requested stunt.
No, how can I say it.
I don't perform any stunts in this movie beside (he make the blessing sign)
you think this is a stunt
or this (he show his hand for kiss the cardinals ring)
But a request for a stunt. Can I have some time to think of it?
And you ask me again next week?

Do you know much about him from German movies? I watch them on occasion but something gets lost when reading subtitles. I do better with French.

:D I think that Christoph Waltz is someone whose company I would enjoy. I am not proud of the fact that I don't know much of Cardinal Richelieu (I can't vouch for my historical view based on "Cardinal so-called Richelieu" as played by Michael Palin in the Monty Python skit  ::) :P) -- but I think Mr. Waltz's performance can only stir interest in the "real" Cardinal.

Thanks, Ariantes!!!

At the moment in austrian and german newspapers is a little discussion:

He was born in Austria but his father is German, so Christoph has a german passport,

Everybody thought he is austrian.

Now some german gazettes proclaims he is german and so a german won the Oscar,
but Christoph said he always feel be an austrian, he lived almost his whole live there.
I think he will get his austrian passport soon.

Funny what kind of things these journalists of the newspapers digging on. :coffee:

I don't care about what kind of passport an actor have,

Funny enough most of my favourite actors are british:
Ray, Jason Isaacs, Richard Armitage.

Thanks for Ariantes' translation - Waltz is a funny guy.  I imagine with all those colourful personalities the set will never be free of wisearsery.

I also wonder if some of what Ray said was edited out.

Given how the chap in the back went balls-out, it's rather difficult to imagine that was edited.

Ray seems like a lot of fun, and he reminded me of his old character Titus Pullo when he made the crack "He was alone" and especially when he made the crack about being tall.

Oh come now, you know you were thinking of ME.  (I'm still taller)  ;D

Logan Lerman is the only one wearing hair extensions.

He's a brave lad, having those hair extensions in for the duration of filming.  Will look much more natural than a wig on film!

Boy, what I wouldn't give to be a fly on that set...a very careful one so I don't get swatted. Good thing you aren't there, Titus, to add to that tomfoolery...besides Ray might get jealous that you are taller than him..although  in a certain pic I saw of the guys, Matthew Mcfayden looks taller and broader than Ray; IMDb claims he is 6'3" but they have been wrong before as we know.  :dance2:
