Just checked IMDB to see if they had any new movies/projects under Ray's entry, and they have the first 2007 episode of Rome up -- "Philippi".  Not much in the way of Rome, but it's nice to see things moving along!!

They must have just put that info up. Yesterday they just had Season 1 of Rome listed. I can't wait till we see listed where he is doing other movies.

It's been hard getting updates about Rome. Unless a manager or agent or such adds the info to imdb, you can't always count on what's there. But it's usually a good starting point.

They are a good starting point. But sometimes their info is inaccurate. On the Gerard Butler  IMDB board they had him listed as married. Turned out it was a joke and the person in charge of the info didn't catch it. It is a good place to get basic info about an actor and also discover fan sites for the person. At least we know Ray has completed one episode of the second season. Can't wait to see it. It was kind of left up in the air as to where Pullo and Eirene went.

She was at the March 15 Rome photocall shoot, so it's highly likely she'll be in Season 2.  Which is sort of depressing -- I don't know if it's the actress, the script, or the directing -- she just seemed really blank.  I'd write more but I'd be afraid to give away the ending of Season 1 to people who haven't seen it.

She kind of blended into the scenery too much. But then isn't that what slaves were supposed to do? Now that they announced that he was getting a new love interest in the form of an Amazon named Gaia maybe that will make Eirene come out more. Who knows we will probably have to wait another year to find out. I agree it is hard to not say too much for those who haven't seen the  whole season yet. But it was worth watching it all. Can't wait till the next set comes out.

Man, what is it with HBO? Most of the best stuff on the small screen is on HBO and after a season or two they go and kill all these great series. About the only one that died a good death was six feet under, and that 's just cause the last season became lame.

It sounds like there may still be some chance of getting more than 2 seasons. Seems the main reason cited for cancellation is money, not only is the series an expensive one but the BBC and RAI initially only committed to chipping in for 2 seasons. The BBC has not indicated that it would not consider committing to more than 2 seasons.

How strong DVD sales are and how well the season 2 does will be key in any final decision.

Another episode has been added to the imdb page, though no specifics. "Passover" is listed as episode 1 for season 2 and "Philippi" is noted as being episode 6.

On the HBO:Rome site, they are having daily blogs by the Third Assistant Director (who works closely with the actors).  S/he mentioned Ray's generosity (Ray gave the AD season 5 of Six Feet Under DVD).  Just FYI -- they're a pretty interesting read as the AD talks about many of the actors.

I think Eirene will likely be phased out. She's a free woman now, so she can stay or leave. Plus season 2 is going to center on the civil war that's brewing, which means Vorenus and Pullo are not going to be home. With Niobe dead, there isn't much to focus on in regards to life in the Aventine (other than how the political strife will affect everyone).

I think that Eirene's character will be phased out as well -- I think she'll find a new love and go off with him.  Besides, Pullo has a new love interest.
