Cirque du Freak gets a new release date, new title

Universal Pictures has announced that "Cirque du Freak," has now been dubbed "The Vampire's Assistant", taking the title of the second book in Darren Shan's 12-volume "The Saga of Darren Shan" (the first book being "Cirque du Freak"). Along with the new name is a new release date, Universal announced it is now set for wide release on Oct. 23, 2009. It had previously been tentatively scheduled for a January 2010 release.
